Tooth coloured fillings (also known as resin fillings) are an aesthetic alternative to amalgam (silver) fillings. They are strong, durable and virtually invisible to the eye. Tooth coloured fillings are suitable for small to medium restorations in the front and back teeth and can be completed in one appointment.

The procedure involves:

• Removal of decayed or fractured tooth substance
• Cleansing and etching of the area for placement
• Shade selection
• Incremental addition of the resin material
• Curing of this material with a blue light
• Adjustment and smoothing of this restoration
