At Smile Doctor we provide cosmetic dental treatments so that you can achieve the smile you have always dreamed of. While we put your dental health first, we also know how important a beautiful smile is for a patient’s confidence.
At Smile Doctor we believe it is an art to create natural looking, beautiful smiles. We carry out every cosmetic procedure available so that you can find the option that works best for you.
Start with the perfect smile in mind! And proceed cautiously.
Everyone has a different idea of what a perfect smile is for them. So there is no disappointment at the end of treatment, we help you visualise what you want to achieve by talking through your key concerns and desires. Then browse pictures you may have of celebrities or people with the “perfect smile” that you would like to have.
Digital images of your teeth can be taken and altered to get an idea of how your new smile will look in your face after the procedure. Check out Digital Smile Design.
Once the dentist has a clear idea of what you want, records and impressions of your teeth are taken and your new smile before and after is recreated on stone models. This will assist in you checking we have understood what you want you. Often mockups can be made from these and placed over your existing teeth so you can see what it is going to look like. Adjustments are far easier here than at the end!
Some people don’t know what they want, they want to trust the dentist to do what he thinks best. Our practices save the grief and disappointment of something unexpected coming out and you being disappointed. It helps us get it right too. Sure, if you’re unhappy, we guarantee to replace it but no one wants to go through a dental procedure twice! We ensure you get to see if all the effort and cost is worthwhile for the end result BEFORE your teeth are altered or irreversibly ground down.
The next step is to discuss the range of options we have to get you there, such as:

- Smile rejuvenation and teeth reshaping
- Smile makeovers
- Tooth coloured ceramic inlays and onlays
- Laser dentistry – gum lifts

BriteSmile
Whitening and BriteSmile
Whiter, brighter smiles can be achieved in as little as one hour with the use of new revolutionary BriteSmile technology. Years of staining can be quickly erased in the time that it takes to have a haircut.
It’s simple, safe and effective, whitening your teeth up to 8 shades lighter.
Whitening can give an extra lift to your smile and you will be surprised at the confidence it will bring.
“At home” whitening can be arranged too so that you can relax and lighten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. The same results as BriteSmile can be expected after wearing the trays with the gel for one hour a day for approximately two weeks.
Smile Mini Makeover
Smile rejuvenation
The Smile Doctor can remedy chipped and ragged looking teeth quickly and easily by judiciously and artistically reshaping some of the tooth enamel. We can form natural, youthful edges and contours, changing the three dimensional shape and rejuvenating the appearance of the teeth in a simple, painless session that lasts less than 30 minutes with no need for injections.
Now add some whitening and you often have the most amazing lift!
Patients are constantly stunned at how such a minute change in artistic hands can make such an impressive difference!
You’ll love your mini smile makeover
Ceramic Inlays & Onlays
Ceramic inlays offer strength and beauty in one amazing package. Ceramic inlays can be bonded in so they are virtually invisible, and protect your tooth from further breakage – they can actually make your tooth stronger!
We recommend these when a larger portion of your tooth requires repair or a tooth is weakened and likely to break.
An inlay can often avoid the aggressive tooth reduction required of a crown. This reduces the likelihood of nerve death.
Two appointments are required approximately 2 weeks apart. In the first, preparations are made including fitting a temporary restoration. At the second appointment, the inlay/onlays are bonded to your teeth, polished and your bite is carefully checked.
Single appointment inlays can be done with a CEREC machine but there are limitations to a machine finished restoration compared to what an artistic ceramist can do.
Porcelain Laminate Veneers
If you have chipped, cracked, misaligned or discoloured front teeth then porcelain veneers may be for you. Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain which are carefully fabricated to fit perfectly over the front surfaces of your teeth and bonded in place.
This treatment requires 2 appointments. At the first, preparations are made including fitting a temporary veneer. At the second, your veneer will be ready for cementation and will be bonded to your tooth.
Veneers are a fantastic way to improve your smile and protect the underlying teeth. Many of my patients enjoy the benefits of veneers and wish that they had chosen this treatment sooner!
Gum Lifts
Some people show a lot of pink gums when they smile. It can be unattractive. Gum lifts remove excess gum tissue and expose more of the crown of the tooth, restoring a more normal balance between teeth size and gum display. This can apply to just one tooth or all your front teeth.
There are two ways that gum lifts can be performed.
Surgical gum lifts
This traditional method involves the use of a scalpel to lift the gums away from the bone, then trim and shape the edges of your bone, then re adapt the gum tissue to the new bony contours.
Laser gum lifts
This procedure involves trimming away the small amounts of excess gum tissue and reshaping the edges of the gums with a laser. There is no cutting, bleeding or sutures and less pain afterwards. Most people prefer this procedure.
Tooth Coloured Fillings
Tooth coloured fillings (also known as resin fillings) are an aesthetic alternative to amalgam (silver) fillings. They are strong, durable and virtually invisible to the eye. Tooth coloured fillings are suitable for small to medium restorations in the front and back teeth and can be completed in one appointment.
The procedure involves:
- Removal of decayed or fractured tooth substance
- Cleansing and etching of the area for placement
- Shade selection
- Incremental addition of the resin material
- Curing of this material with a blue light
- Adjustment and smoothing of this restoration
